A Hackathon is a meeting of the minds to challenge current notions, problem solve, create, and collaborate. OLP’s Engineering Projects in Community Service club (EPICS), the hosts of the annual Hackathon, focuses on how STEM can solve global issues using science, technology, engineering, and math. This is a friendly competition and the teams will be presenting their solutions to a panel of judges. Teams in first, second, and third place will receive prizes! This year’s theme is Life on Mars! Participants will be collaborating to find solutions to barriers that prevent humans from living on Mars, including food and water sources, air, shelter, clothing, energy, transportation, and waste.
All girls in grades 8-12 are invited to join us on September 10 from 8:00-4:30 at the OLP Campus for an event full of brainstorming and laughter as we tackle this year’s Hackathon!
