St. Gregory the Great Catholic School recently celebrated our nation’s veterans and active duty military with an assembly honoring their service and sacrifice. The day began with prayer, followed by a presentation to the students by Col Chris Keane, US Marine Corps (Retired). Veterans and active duty military representative and their families joined us for a special breakfast to honor their service and sacrifice.
As we continue our Kindness Campaign, our students continue to show a spirit of generosity and service to others. Many of them donated their Halloween candy to Casa de Los Pobres in Tijuana. Maddie Zwahlen in fourth grade, was just recognized by the Knights of Columbus for collecting new jackets for the Coats for Kids program and Preston Morris has been collecting donations for Rady Children’s Hospital over the last few months. The annual Great Quarter Race was a huge success, raising 10,433 quarters which will buy 10,433 meals for hungry children around the world. Last month, we welcomed Ned’s Kindness Adventure, a popular assembly program that promotes empathy towards others, in which all proceeds from this program benefit Kenyan Ministries.
